Before you can sign in, you'll set your own password using the BSC password reset tool.
Finding your email address
Your BSC email address is your username. When a sign-in page asks for a username, enter the whole address including the part after the @ sign.
Student addresses end in @student.b-sc.edu. Faculty and staff addresses end in @b-sc.edu without it, so an address you see from a professor won't look quite like yours.
You'll find yours in the welcome message we sent to your personal email. If you can't find that message, email helpdesk@b-sc.edu from any address you can access, with your full name and date of birth, and we'll send it to you.
Set your password
- Go to https://b-sc.edu:2096/resetpass
- Enter your full email address in the Username field, then click Reset Password
- Enter the personal email address you gave us during admissions, then click Send Security Code
- Open that message and follow the link to create your password
- Sign in at https://b-sc.edu:2096 and send yourself a test message
Choosing a password
Use at least 12 characters with a mix of upper and lower case letters, at least one number, and at least one symbol. A short phrase with a number and a symbol in it is easier to remember than a scrambled word and just as strong.
This is separate from your Populi password, so the two don't need to match and changing one won't change the other.
If the security code doesn't arrive
Check the spam folder of your personal email first, since that's where it usually ends up. Give it about five minutes before assuming something went wrong.
If the personal address we have on file has changed since you applied, the code will go somewhere you can't reach. Rather than trying again, email helpdesk@b-sc.edu from any address you can access and we'll verify you another way.
If the page won't load
Some workplace, public, and campus networks block the connection this page uses. Turning wifi off on your phone and trying again on cellular data usually gets you through.
If it still won't load, let us know at helpdesk@b-sc.edu and we'll set it up with you.
Next: get your mail on your phone
Once your password works, adding the account to your phone takes about five minutes. Pick the app you use.
iPhone: Apple Mail or Outlook.
Android: Gmail app, Samsung Email, or Outlook.
One thing to know
Barber-Scotia will never ask you for your password, by email, phone, or text. The only place you'll ever enter it is a sign-in page you navigated to yourself.
If a message asks for your password or sends you somewhere to enter it, forward it to helpdesk@b-sc.edu with PHISHING in the subject line.
