Email: reset a forgotten password

You can reset your own password without waiting on us.

Reset it

1. Go to https://b-sc.edu:2096/resetpass
2. Enter your full email address, including @student.b-sc.edu, then click Reset Password
3. Enter the personal email address on file for you, then click Send Security Code
4. Open that message and follow the link to set a new password

Use at least 12 characters with upper and lower case letters, a number, and a symbol.

Check which account you're resetting

Populi and your BSC email are separate systems with separate passwords, so resetting one won't affect the other.

If the password you're trying was for Populi, you'll want Populi: reset your password instead.

If the code doesn't arrive

Check your spam folder and give it about five minutes.

If the personal address we have on file is one you no longer use, the code is going somewhere you can't reach and trying again won't change that. Email helpdesk@b-sc.edu from any address you can access and we'll verify you another way.

If the page won't load

Some workplace, public, and campus networks block the connection this page uses. Turning wifi off and trying again on cellular data usually gets through. If it still won't load, let us know and we'll set it up with you.

After you reset it

If your BSC email is set up on your phone or in a mail app on your computer, those will keep trying the old password and may show a sign-in error. Update the saved password in each one and they'll reconnect.

If updating the password doesn't clear it, remove the account and add it again.

If you didn't request this

If your password stopped working on its own, or you got a reset notice you didn't ask for, someone may have access to your account. See Your account may be compromised.
